On the introduction of the Model 3 Elon Musk announced that their newest model would go from 0-60mph in less than six seconds.  The room breathed a collective sigh of relief when this was announced because up til that point it was unclear if the company would be able to achieve the kind of performance we've come to expect from Tesla automobiles at the new low 35k price point.  The Tesla S and X afterall feature a 'Ludicrous Mode' option which sees these higher priced models take off like a rocket ship with whiplash inducing speed and times as low as 2.6 seconds (the P90D) for 0-60.   Obviously then one of the questions future Tesla Model 3 buyers have had is whether the company's new baby would also feature 'Ludicrous Mode'.  Well, your prayers have been answered because in a tweet this past weekend none other than the boss himself, Elon Musk stated that the Model 3 will in effect offer Ludicrous Mode as an option.   No word on if the 0-60 time will match the blazing speeds of its higher priced siblings but we can be assured of some pretty impressive scores considering the base model is already fast.
